My sister-in-law gave me this print a few months ago and I finally got it framed. I hung it up above my sink next to the magnetic knife holder thingee. That’s Lucille Ball in a superman suit perched in an open window right next to it. I’ve been feeling like doing nothing more than watching tv for the past week or so and hanging this the other day felt like I’d made some crazy run for it. When I cut up the mushrooms I got at the Korean market for my omelet this afternoon I could feel it there, directly in front of me. It gave me a little thrill. It makes me happy. Happy is good.
It’s not lost on me that the thing reminding me there’s a life out there beyond tv shows is a slogan from a tv show, but there you are. Soon, I tell myself, soon.
